John Philip Johnson writes a lot of poetry, and has had a lot of work accepted lately in magazines that are kind of hard to get into, including Rattle, Southern Poetry Review and a bunch of others. He has written one novel, and intends to write more, but he prefers poetry, and right now it is stroking his ego.

John studied English and philosophy at the University of Nebraska Lincoln well into graduate school. After that he got a job in construction, and soon thereafter he married a sweet Catholic girl named Sue Kouma Johnson.

Sue is a painter, and her website is Here.

They have been pretty happy ever after, and have five beautiful children. They currently live in Lincoln, Nebraska, where John is employed at the same place Ted Kooser was, just down the hall from the same people.

Lately John is into Tan Lin, and other faves include Paul Violi, Les Murrary, and an excellent poet and writer from Tasmania named Jane Williams, of whose work he has read almost every word.
